Given that my fourth year in Charleston is coming to an end (August 2016), I feel it’s time that I showcase how beautiful my city is. I came here from NJ in August 2012 to attend the College of Charleston, and have enjoyed my time in “The Holy City.” While it has been an enriching experience to live here, it is time for a change, and I will be leaving Charleston by summer’s end. Find below a tribute to my school and my city.
One of the unexpected joys of living in Charleston has been the role that history plays in the city and the school. I chose the College because it was just another piece of the city, and I didn’t want to be in an isolated college town. With that came the constant interaction with historic buildings and monuments, horse and carriages, old Charleston families, and more. This constant connection to the past has contextualized my 4-year experience in the greater American story, and enriched each event from my daily bike ride to the countless art openings and lectures I’ve attended.
Charleston – it’s been a dream.
