La Rochelle, a second home.
Like Charleston, living somewhere as beautiful as La Rochelle is seldom appreciated before you leave. I was lucky enough to spend four months here, living with a french family, and attending a local university. While studies were rigorous and important, the below photo proves that this experience was also a ton of fun. In La Rochelle, I learned the importance of foreign language, and forging friendships internationally.
To some, the visual presence of a glass of wine, or a pint of beer, may seem inappropriate on this website. However, I prefer to embrace these displays for what they are – my experiences in European cultures, where the miracle of wine and the quality of beer are to be celebrated, not hidden. I think it’s important to appreciate great food and wine when you can, not only for their taste, but also for their importance in histories and cultures around the world.
